After stepping out of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli has learned the nuances of life at home. His wife Anushka Sharma posted a photo of him to her Instagram on Tuesday, showing the captain of India and RCB cleaning his cricket shoes. The duo are expecting their first child in January 2021. Kohli has also received paternity leave from the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), and will return to India after the first test match of the Australia tour. “The man got caught diligently cleaning his muddy points before the tour,” Anushka wrote in the post.
Kohli led RCB to fourth place in the IPL 2020 competition phase. They played 14 games, won 7 games and lost 7. RCB lost to SunRisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. The tournament took place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was shifted due to rising coronavirus cases in India.
Kohli had a bad start to the campaign, but quickly recovered, scoring 466 runs from 14 games, with a success rate of 121.35. He also seized three half centuries. His cut-off number was 23 fours and 11 sixes.
India’s tour of Australia kicks off on November 27 with a three-game ODI run. It will be followed by three T20Is, starting December 4. The first test starts on December 17. The four-game test series ends on January 19.
