India’s deputy skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who was working on the first slip, recorded a “sharp catch” from Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling to get rid of Marnus Labuschagne for 91 on Day 2 of the third test the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday. The hosts resumed their innings on their overnight score of 166/2 and the duo of Steve Smith and Labuschagne kept the Indian bowlers at bay for the first hour, putting a 100-run tie between them. With both hitters seated and beaten confidently, the visitors were pushed onto the backfoot. Jadeja gave India the crucial breakthrough when he got Labuschagne caught in the first slip by Rahane. Due to the resignation, Labuschagne took the long walk back to the pavilion after missing a century with just nine runs.
Cricket.com.au shared the video of Labuschagne’s wicket and tweeted: “Out – Labuschagne is out for 91 after a sharp catch of Rahane on slip”.

After Labuschagne’s wicket, Jadeja took another wicket when he dismissed Matthew Wade, who first hit this series in the middle order.
During his brief stay with the crease, Wade tried to beat the Indian spinners with his sweep shots, but he paid the price for too much aggression for being caught halfway through with Jasprit Bumrah taking a simple catch.
With just a few minutes to go before lunch, Bumrah pinned Australian all-rounder Cameron Green’s leg before a duck when India closed the morning session on a strong note.
