Wasim Jaffer had a “hidden message” for India’s deputy captain Ajinkya Rahane, who will lead the team in the remaining three tests in Australia’s Border-Gavaskar series. Jaffer posted a cryptic message on Twitter that read “People In Cricket Know Grief In Life Lingers Aplenty Never Dabble Rise And Handcraft Unique Legacy”, a sentence with the abbreviation “PICK GILL AND RAHUL”, as advice to Rahane ahead of Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Jaffer’s funny tweet was followed by a fan postscript. “PS: you are also open to decrypt the message,” Jaffer wrote.
Dear @ ajinkyarahane88, here is a (hidden) message for you. Good luck with Boxing Day!

Calls for the inclusion of Shubman Gill, a right-handed opening batsman, in the playing XI have grown all the more due to a poor bat run for Prithvi Shaw, who opened with Mayank Agarwal in the Adelaide Test.
Shaw returned scores of 0 and 4 in a game where his technique was exposed and criticized by experts like Ricky Ponting.
Ponting predicted Shaw’s release in the air just before Mitchell Starc would throw Shaw through the gate, just as Ponting predicted.
Gill, on the other hand, batted half a century in India’s second warm-up match prior to the first Test and he will likely replace Shaw in the opening box of the second Test starting December 26 in Melbourne.
Rahul will likely go in the middle to fill a spot vacated by skipper Virat Kohli, who returned home on paternity leave after the initial test.
India lost to Australia in the day-night test at Adelaide Oval, where they were limited to their lowest Test total of 36 for 9 in the second innings before succumbing to an eight-wicket defeat.
