Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has been quite active on social media in recent times and has provided some interesting responses on a variety of topics. Jaffer provided some more entertainment on Friday by trolling former Australian spinner Brad Hogg. Hogg tweeted his lack of confidence in Rohit Sharma’s ability to hold on to a spot in the Indian lineup for the upcoming four-game test series in Australia. The 49-year-old based this opinion on the opener’s record while touring in the game’s longest format. “Rahane will do well. The only other option would be Rohit, but his record tour in Test Cricket is no assurance that he will keep a spot on the team. #Cricket #INDvAUS,” Hogg tweeted. The tweet was in response to a question from a fan who sought the cricketer’s opinion of Ajinkya Rahane taking over the captain’s role in the last three Tests. The regular skipper Virat Kohli will return home at the end of the first test.
Jaffer certainly found Hogg’s lack of confidence in Rohit’s abilities in Test cricket to be hilarious, as his response shows. “No assurance that he (Rohit) has a spot on the team” #AusvInd, “read the response from the former Indian cricketer, which featured a tearful face of glee emoji.
