Preparing for a grueling tour of Australia, the Indian team began outdoor training with a light session on Saturday after the entire contingent tested negative for COVID-19. Several cricket players who recently competed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE, including Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw and Mohammed Siraj, attended the session at Blacktown International Sports Park in Sydney Olympic Park.

The BCCI posted photos of the outdoor workout and a gym session on its twitter handle.

Spinner Kudeep Yadav, pacesetter Umesh Yadav, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and Testbatting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara were heating up.

India’s newest tempo sensation, T Natarajan, and Deepak Chahar were also featured in the photos.

The Indian team is currently in a 14-day quarantine period and members have passed the first COVID-19 test, according to the information received.

Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also posted a photo of his twitter handle with fellow spinner Kuldeep.

“Back with my brother @ imkuldeep18 and back on national duty for Flag of India # TeamIndia Flexed biceps #spintwins #kulcha,” he tweeted.

India is scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20s and a four Test Series on the tour, starting with T20Is from November 27th.

The Test Series kicks off with a day-night match in Adelaide from December 17th. Skipper Virat Kohli will miss the last three games as he will be on paternity during that time.
