Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed on Saturday that the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will host the Big Bash League (BBL) final on February 6. Sydney Sixers won the rights to host their second consecutive final after beating the Perth Scorchers in qualifying. on Saturday.
The Perth Scorchers will now have a second chance to reach the final when they host the Challenger at Optus Stadium on Thursday. They will face Sydney Thunder or Brisbane Heat, who will compete against each other in Manuka Oval on Sunday.
“We would like to congratulate the Sydney Sixers on the right to host their second consecutive BBL Final and we are pleased to confirm that it will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground,” Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues , said in an official release.
“This is a great reward for fans of the Sydney Sixers, who have not been able to come to the SCG and see their team play in BBL | 10 so far. We look forward to having a large audience next Saturday night. to the SCG for a fitting end to our tenth season of Big Bash. BBL had started on December 10, 2020 with the first series of games being played in Hobart and Canberra, before moving to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
