By Yasin Ebrahim – The Trump administration is reportedly asking states to drop certain requirements to speed up approval of coronavirus vaccination sites by November 1, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“The CDC is urgently asking for your assistance in speeding up applications for these distribution facilities and, if necessary, is asking you to consider waiving requirements that would prevent these facilities from becoming fully operational by November 1, 2020,” a wrote the CDC in a letter to state governors, according to the report.

The move marked the latest sign that the Trump administration is seeking vaccine approval ahead of the November 3 U.S. election.

Moderna (NASDAQ :), the frontrunner in the race to find a Covid-19 vaccine, was flat in the after-hours trade, while rivals Novavax (NASDAQ :), Pfizer (NYSE 🙂 and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE 🙂 also remained largely unchanged.
