Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video in which he played the tune of a hit Bollywood song from one of Shah Rukh Khan’s greatest films. In the video, Deepak Chahar can be seen playing a guitar before going to Sydney to practice. “Vote for the #quarantine #life training”, Deepak Chahar signed the video. The 28-year-old pacemaker is in Sydney with the rest of the Indian squad and is undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period prior to the start of a nearly two-month tour of Australia.
Chahar was not named in the One-Day Internationals and Test squads for the upcoming series in Australia, but he was selected for the Twenty20 International games Down Under.
Chahar was last seen in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), representing Chennai Super Kings.
Deepak Chahar played 14 matches in the 13th edition of IPL and took 12 wickets, but what stood out was his economy rate – 7.61.
Chahar has only played 10 T20I games, but he holds the record for best Indian bowling figures in the game’s shortest format.
Chahar took six wickets and gave away only seven runs against Bangladesh in Nagpur.
India is scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Test matches in Australia.
The tour kicks off on November 27 with the ODI series.
