Miami, United States:
Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale had 10 guns in his Florida home and his wife accused him of beating them, police said Monday after he was dramatically detained outside his home.
Parscale allegedly hit his wife, loaded a gun and threatened suicide during an argument on Sunday, a police report on the incident in Fort Lauderdale, 50 kilometers north of Miami.
Parscale was laid off as campaign manager when Trump fell into the polls in July, just four months before the November election.
In a police bodycam video, Parscale’s wife Candice is seen in front of the house in a bikini and a towel, telling the police that he is “crazy” and has a gun loaded.
“I saw him open the blinds in the front yard and he closed them and I heard what I thought was a shot,” she said.
The footage showed Parscale, 44, who later came out of the house shirtless and with a beer can.
He was attacked by armed police, thrown to the ground and handcuffed when he repeatedly said, “I did nothing.”
According to the police report, he appeared to be drunk and quoted Candice Parscale, 41, when she said her husband had become violent in the past few weeks.
“I noticed several large bruises on both arms, cheek and forehead,” wrote Detective Steven Smith in the report. “When I asked how she got the bruises, she said Brad Parscale hit her.”
The dismissed campaign manager is said to have two shotguns, two rifles and six handguns on the property. He was sent to a psychiatric facility for evaluation.
He was downgraded shortly after a Trump rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was widely planned because of their poor attendance. He remained a senior member of the campaign team.
