Do you remember when Elon Musk said that Tesla only continued to build the S and X for sentimental reasons? (during a call for prizes, October 2019).
Now we have updated the ‘Plaid’ versions. Tesla has given the cars a completely new interior with updated screens and air conditioning. It also redesigned the battery and modules in the new cars and upgraded the Fremont plant ahead of its launch later this quarter.
The Model S plaid is something. Tesla says it can reach 0-60 in less than 2 seconds, claiming in the winning presentation that it is the fastest accelerating production car in the world. It costs $ 112,990 including potential incentives. That gives you 390 miles of range and a top speed of 200 miles per hour. According to the company website, delivery begins in March.

There’s a higher-end Plaid + model available for $ 132,990 that has an extended range of 520 miles on a single charge. The company estimates delivery is scheduled for the end of 2021.
The checkered version of the Model X has seen a similar makeover and injection of speed and power. According to its website, Tesla is “the most powerful SUV ever built” in terms of performance and acceleration. Starting at $ 113,190 including incentives, it has a maximum range of 340 miles (less than the standard long range model) and can reach 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Three high-performance motors give the X Plaid a peak output of 1,020 hp. Musk said in the call for results, deliveries of the Model S plaid will be in February.
