All-rounder Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians is busy preparing fully for the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, which kicks off on September 19. The flamboyant right-handed took to Instagram on Saturday to share a photo where he is seen wearing his training kit and wacky sunglasses. “When I mean business,” Hardik Pandya wrote the photo, along with some emojis, including one of a trophy. However, Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul, who is known to share a very close relationship with the all-rounder, saw the picture in a slightly different light.
“You look ready for the beach,” Rahul teased in Pandya’s photo, with a beach emoji.
The comment had fans in giggles.
Hardik’s older brother and Mumbai Indians’ teammate Krunal Pandya also commented on the photo.
He showed his approval with a series of emojis.
All their friendship and social media chatter aside, both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul will mean business when the cash-rich competition, postponed from its originally scheduled start in late March due to the coronavirus pandemic, finally kicks off.
While Hardik Pandya is one of the key players for defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians, Kl Rahul will run a franchise for the first time this season.
Hardik recently said he doesn’t suffer from bouts of nervousness, and is just excited to get out on the field and do what he loves.
“More excited than nervous as I’ve been training for over 10 months and look forward to playing so that the part where the nervousness comes or the pressure comes is gone,” Hardik told ANI.
“I’m just more excited to be on the field and implement what I’ve been working on in relation to my training part, the practice sessions,” he added.
The IPL will take place in the United Arab Emirates this year, due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in India.
The schedule for the tournament will be announced on Sunday. The final will be played on November 10.
