IND vs ENG, 2nd test, Chennai weather report: no rain threat for second test


Rain is unlikely to hamper Team India’s plans for the second Test as they aim for a tie-in victory in the ongoing four-game test series against England. The second test between the two teams will begin on February 13 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. According to weather forecast website AccuWeather, the weather is expected to be sunny on all five days. England led the test series of four games against India 1-0. The visitors beat the Indian team by 227 runs in the opening test that was also held at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Axar Patel has made a full recovery after being offside for the first test due to pain in his left knee. The all-rounder is available for selection in the second test.

Shahbaz Nadeem, who played against England in the opening test, has been added to the group of standby players along with Rahul Chahar.

The playing XI for the second test has not been announced so far.

England has announced a squad of 12 men for the second test.

Pacers James Anderson and Jofra Archer will not be among the fast bowlers. Jos Buttler is equipped for the remaining three Tests of the series, with Ben Foakes taking on the gloves, as confirmed by skipper Joe Root, during a virtual press conference on Friday.

Dom Bess is the last player to miss the line-up in the first test.
