Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Chennai, where he is about to open a series of infrastructure projects, took to Twitter to share an aerial view of the MA Chidambaram Stadium – popularly called the Chepauk – in the midst of the ongoing second test between India and England on Sunday. “I got a glimpse of an interesting test match in Chennai,” Prime Minister Modi wrote along with the stadium photo, featuring a bat-and-ball emoji and flags of India and England.

Prime Minister Modi also recently praised Team India’s performance in the Test series against Australia, where they came back from behind and fought injuries to win the series of four games 2-1.

“This month we got some good news from the cricket field. After the first hiccup, the Indian team bounced back gloriously and won the series in Australia. Our team’s hard work and teamwork was inspiring,” said PM Modi during his’ Mann Ki Baat ‘. radio program in January.

In the ongoing second Test, India placed 329 after winning the toss and chose to hit. Rohit Sharma scored 161 in an offensive knock, while Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant came in with pivotal half centuries.

Ravichandran Ashwin then took his 29th flyout of five wicket in Tests when England was thrown out for 134.

India wants to level the four-game streak, after losing the opening game – which is also played at the same location – by 227 runs.
