Ahead of the pink ball test against England at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad, the Indian players seem to be quite relaxed, especially after the way they beat England in the second test in Chennai to level the streak 1-1. Ravichandran Ashwin, who led India to victory with his all-round performance, posted a video to Instagram featuring all-rounder Hardik Pandya and left arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. In the video, all three star players can be seen grooving on the ‘Vaathi Coming’ song from the Tamil movie ‘Master’. The video, shot in the gym, shows all three players shaking their legs to the beats of the famous Tamil song – which has become a huge hit on the internet. Ashwin wrote to both Hardik and Kuldeep in his post, saying, “Vaathi should be happy !! with @ hardikpandya93 @ kuldeep_18.”
Ashwin was one of the most outstanding players for India in the second Test, as he picked up eight wickets in the match and also scored a century on a tricky pitch in India’s second innings. He was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance which helped India come back from a severe defeat in the first Test to the level of the four-Test series, entering the day-night Test in Ahmedabad.
Kuldeep Yadav, after missing the series opener, was included in the playing XI in the final game, but didn’t get much bowling, with Ashwin and Axar Patel doing most of the bowling. After going wicketless in the first innings, Kuldeep finished with two wickets in the second innings despite having limited bowling opportunities. Hardik Pandya is still waiting for his chance in the Test series after not being included in India’s XI for the first two games.
