Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian battle legend, took to Twitter on Sunday to congratulate Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia after the trio earned their first call-up to the Indian team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a roster of 19 members for the upcoming Twenty20 International (T20I) series of five games against England on Saturday. Congratulations @ ishankishan51, @ rahultewatia02 & @ surya_14kumar for your first call up to the Indian team, and also to @ chakaravarthy29, who was missed in Australia. Playing for India is the highest honor for any cricketer. I wish you all the best of luck, Tendulkar tweeted.

Suryakumar, who argued for a place in the Indian squad with consistent performances in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), was eventually rewarded for his hard work.
Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar’s IPL teammate, also found a place in the roster just hours after breaking his highest A score – 173 against Madhya Pradesh.
Tewatia, who broke through by beating five sixes in West Indian pacesetter Sheldon Cottrell, had a breakout season in the IPL last year and was duly rewarded with a place in the squad.
Rishabh Pant also returned to the Indian squad to take on England after missing the limited overs-leg against Australia Down Under.
While Jasprit Bumrah was being rested for the T20I series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to international cricket after a lengthy injury layoff.
