Indian cricket council president Sourav Ganguly said on Wednesday that he will miss being present at the start of the first international match at the recently renovated Motera stadium in Ahmedabad. Ganguly, who recently underwent two angioplasties, will not be there for the third test between India and England, which will also be only the second day-night test to be held in the country. “Will miss to be in the stadium today … what an effort it must have been to make this … pink test was our dream and it will be the 2nd in india. The Motera stadium will be inaugurated on Wednesday by President Ram Nath Kovind, in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
After the renovation, the Motera is now the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a capacity of 1.10,000 people.
On Tuesday, Rijiju had visited the Motera stadium together with Jay Shah.
