India will take on England in a five-game test series scheduled to start in August 2021, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Wednesday. England will host India for five tests at Trent Bridge, Lord’s, Headingley, the Oval and Old Trafford, with the first game starting on August 4. The test series against India should close the international summer for men, with tests at Trent Bridge, Lord’s, Emerald Headingley, the Kia Oval and Emirates Old Trafford, ECB said in an official statement.
The ECB set plans on Wednesday to host international series on cricket for men, women and the disabled in 2021.
The England cricket team also plays three ODIs against Sri Lanka and a three-game ODI series and three-game T20I series against Pakistan.
Under current plans, England Women will play against South Africa in an ODI series and T20I series before hosting New Zealand for an ODI and T20I series.
The England Visually Impaired team also plans to host Australia in a limited-overs series in August, subject to COVID-19 restrictions.
England are holding the Ashes after their roaring success in Adelaide four years ago, with games and dates for next summer’s series also yet to be completed.
“We had a great summer of international cricket this year with some memorable performances, and we know how much fun it brought people while staying at home,” Tom Harrison, ECB Chief Executive Officer, said in an official statement.
“Next year we have another big international program to look forward to, centered on the thrill of a series of five tests against India, an immersive series of white balls for our men and women, and an Ashes series for our team with visual impairments., ”he added.
