Robin Uthappa’s hits in the nets were edited with footage from the hit TV show Takeshi’s Castle for a hilarious viewing experience in a video of “Takeshi’s Castle feat. Robin Uthappa” posted on social media by Rajasthan Royals. The balls left Uthappa’s bat, and the clip was edited with large plastic balls hitting the show’s contestants while trying to get over a cable car. The commentary from Jaaved Jaaferi, a popular actor whose cheeky comments made Takeshi’s Castle all the more fun, made this video all the more hilarious.

Uthappa has not had the best IPL season in 2020, with only 160 runs from 10 games. Some of this may have been due to his middle order at bat for the first few games – he’s an opening batsman – before being promoted to open the innings.

RR’s fortune this season was not much different from Uthappa’s as they are in seventh place in the points table with 10 points from 12 games.

Their position could have been worse had it not been for Ben Stokes’ impeccable 107 who helped them chase the 195 of Mumbai Indians for 5 on Sunday.

RR will take on a skilled Kings XI Punjab on Friday in a must-win match as they try to stay on the hunt for a spot for the last four.

However, the challenge would be far from easy as KXIP comes into play after five consecutive wins.

Uthappa’s hits on the field could help them overcome the KXIP challenge.
