Scott Styris, Brett Lee, Graeme Swann and their fellow commentators paid glowing tribute to the late Dean Jones, their commentary field partner, as the 2020 Indian Premier League group stage drew to a close. Jones died of a heart attack on September 24 this year, five days after the tournament began in the UAE. “End of the group stage! #Deano, ”Styris wrote on Twitter when he posted a photo of the commentators lifting their glasses in tribute to their former partner.

IPL broadcaster Star Sports had also paid a moving tribute to the former Australian cricketer by keeping one of the seats in the comment box reserved for “Deano” on the day he died.
After closing the competition phase in IPL 2020, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, SunRisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to the play-offs.
Mumbai will face Delhi in Qualifier 1 in Dubai on Thursday, November 5, with the winner booking a place in the final to be played at the same venue on November 10.
SRH and RCB will compete in the Eliminator in Abu Dhabi on November 6 and the winner will take on the loser in Qualifier 1 at the same venue on November 8.
SRH made it into the play-offs in emphatic style, beating the table toppers, Mumbai Indians, by 10 wickets in an unmissable match on Tuesday.
SRH’s win meant that Kolkata Knight Riders, who had held fourth place in the points table until Monday, were eliminated from the tournament.
