Shikhar Dhawan posted a photo in his Instagram stories showing him relaxing on a bench, captioning it “relax before exercising”. Dhawan is the second highest scorer in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) with 471 runs from 12 games. He also became the only batsman to hit hundreds in the IPL in two consecutive innings this season and his team Delhi Capitals, despite recent stutterers, is in third place in the table with 14 runs. They will then play against Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Dhawan has returned scores of 0, 6, 106 not out, 101 not out, 57 and 69 not out in his last six innings.
The two failures in the last two games also coincided with his team’s results as DC has lost three in a row and still needs at least one win from the remaining two games to secure a place in the last four .
In their last match, DC got a hideout from SunRisers Hyderabad, who beat them by 88 runs courtesy of David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha.
SRH posted a whopping 219 for 2 and then knocked out DC for 131 in 19 overs.
Rashid Khan returned 3 for 7 for SRH, while T Natarajan got 2 for 26 as DC failed to gain momentum in their chase.
DC will play in Mumbai this week before taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their final league game on Monday.
Both teams are above Delhi in the table. Mumbai tops the list with 16 points, while RCB is second with 14 points.
