Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja celebrated in style after beating 31 unbeaten out of 11 deliveries to help his squad chase a 173-run target against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Jadeja hit sixes of the last two deliveries to help CSK pull off a win that seemed unlikely at one point. The 31-year-old first showed a thumbs up towards a dugout that looked dizzy with joy before underlining his name on the jersey. CSK may not be competing for a spot in the playoffs, but the win will not be easily forgotten given the lack of success in IPL 2020.

The Chennai-based franchise’s victory also makes defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Jadeja may have provided a fine end to the chase, but the credit for setting it up goes to opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad mixed aggression with caution to initially sew a 50-run partnership with Shane Watson before moving on to a 68-run tie with Ambati Rayudu.
The 23-year-old scored 72 runs on 53 deliveries in an innings littered with six boundaries and two sixes to keep CSK in the chase.
Gaikwad’s resignation put Jadeja in the fold, who eventually emerged as the perfect successor.
Previously, KKR posted a total of 172 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs after being deployed for clubbing.
Nitish Rana was the highest scorer, with 87 runs from 61 deliveries with 10 limits and four sixes to his credit.
