Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer has been fined for maintaining a slow surplus against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Iyer has been fined INR 12 lakh for being the first offense by Delhi Capitals to maintain a slow crossing of the ongoing IPL. “As it was the first offense of the season for his team according to the IPL code of conduct regarding minimum over-rate offenses, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh,” an official statement said.
Previously, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli was fined for maintaining a slow overrun against Kings XI Punjab. He was fined INR 15 lakh.
The game between Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad was played on Tuesday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
David Warner-led Hyderabad defeated Delhi Capitals by 15 runs, defending a total of 162.
Delhi Capitals hunted for 162, but they were limited to just 147/7 when Rashid Khan returned with the numbers 3-14 from his quota of four overs.
SunRisers Hyderabad will face Chennai Super Kings on Oct. 2, while Delhi Capitals will face Kolkata Knight Riders on Oct. 3.
