Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday to claim a place in the play-offs of the ongoing Indian Premier League. It will be Delhi’s fifth play-off appearance in an IPL season. The Delhi-based franchise will compete against the defending champion Mumbai Indians and the winners of that match will have direct access to the IPL 2020 final, while the loser of the game in Dubai will compete against the winner of the eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore and SunRisers Hyderabad in qualifier 2. In 2019, Delhi (as Delhi Daredevils) finished in the top four after six years. A win on Thursday puts an end to Delhi’s jinx of failing to reach the final in any of the IPL seasons.

Delhi is looking for another good show from their top artists in this year’s IPL; Kagiso Rabada and Shikhar Dhawan.
Rabada and Dhawan’s performances have been of great importance to Delhi this season as they finished the competition phase in second place on the points table with 16 points from 14 games.
Dhawan, after a quiet start to the tournament, scored two back-to-back hundreds against Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab.
The left-hander is Delhi’s biggest runner with 525 runs after the T20 competition stages.
Kagiso Rabada, who has played every game for Delhi this year, has the Purple Cap with 25 wickets in addition to his name from 14 games.
Delhi Capitals finished fourth on the points table last year and were eliminated by CSK in qualifying second after knocking out SunRisers Hyderabad in the eliminator.
