Delhi Capitals are not going to be too unhappy regardless of their loss to the Mumbai Indians. At this point, as they are in the top two of the IPL 2020 points table, DC will happily forget the opposite, especially as MI looks pretty unbeatable at the moment, and are focusing on rallying two crucial points against Rajasthan Royals when the two sides will meet in Dubai on Wednesday. RR for their part would now dance, led by Riyan Parag, as they scored points against SunRisers Hyderabad in a rather hard-fought and aggressive match.
Delhi would wonder how, with more than half the batter remaining, they got such a mediocre score against MI. The problem seems to be hitting, but it could also just be a glitch, which looks big due to the fact that they faced the defending champions.
The bowlers generally did a good job, but MI just has too many big guns in their at bat to lose as they chase scores around 160 and eventually came through in the gallop.
Rajasthan Royals had to fight harder against SunRiser’s Hyderabad, but that made the victory sweeter. RR welcomed Ben Stokes back, but his contribution was minimal. It was left to young Parag and Rahul Tewatia to create a match-winning grandstand after RR appeared to be getting too upset against Rashid Khan and the other bowlers.
The match ended with a near-collision between Tewatia and SRH’s Khaleel Ahmed and even SRH skipper David Warner got involved. But what counted in the end were the two points that RR desperately needed.
The previous IPL 2020 match between the two sides was quite a cakewalk for Delhi Capitals, who won by 46 runs. But that is now history.
