Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith has been fined for maintaining a slow overestimation against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Smith has been fined INR 12 lakh for being Rajasthan Royals’ first offense to maintain a slow overrun in the ongoing IPL. “Because it was his team’s first offense of the season according to the IPL code of conduct regarding minimum over-rate offenses, Smith was fined Rs 12 lakh,” an official statement said.
Rajasthan Royals was unable to chase 194 points and was pooled for 136 points, losing the game by 57 points at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Only Jos Buttler went to work with the bat for the Steve Smith-led side when he scored 70 runs. Bumrah emerged as a star with the ball for Mumbai when he returned with the numbers 4-20 in his four overs.
First, the Mumbai Indians hit a 193/4 score when Suryakumar Yadav hit an unbeaten run of 79 runs from 47 balls.
Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma also played useful strokes of 30 and 35 respectively.
With this win, Mumbai Indians took to the top of the table with eight points from six games. While Rajasthan has dropped to seventh position.
Rajasthan Royals will then face Delhi Capitals on October 9, while Mumbai Indians will close the horns with Delhi Capitals on October 11.
