IPL 2020, MI vs SRH: David Warner hopes to lead SRH from the front in Sharjah.© BCCI / IPL
SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner is usually one of the most destructive batsmen in the shortest format of the game, with impressive performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. However, Warner has struggled to make an impact on his franchise in IPL 2020 so far, failing to score half a century in the four games the team played. The 33-year-old’s meager condition is further reflected in the fate of SRH, who struggled for their captain to take the victories after a slow start. However, Warner is able to deal major damage in his day with one good knock that can boost cricket player gameplay. Mumbai Indians (MI) attacking bowler Jasprit Bumrah will try to secure another low score for the opener when the two players face off in the 17th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
David Warner scored 115 runs in four games for SRH, with an average of 28.75 and a strike rate of 117.35. Warner has amassed scores of 6, 36, 45 and 28 so far in the current edition of the tournament, which certainly seems less so given the batsman’s capabilities.
Bumrah was good for five wickets in four games, averaging 27. The Indian pacemaker will try to pick more wickets as the race for the purple cap heats up steadily.
Warner will be itching to get a defining knock on Sunday, given the spotlight surrounding his poor run. Bumrah will be just as eager to thwart the Australian and fire him early. Fans can certainly expect a cracker.
