Mumbai Indians (MI) pacemaker Jasprit Bumrah is one of the top bowlers in the ongoing IPL 2020. Bumrah has impressed with his variations that are extremely difficult to choose and his ability to consistently bowl Yorkers is second to none. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hitters were all at sea against the pacer on Friday, doing their best to get some runs before they were left frustrated. MI skipper Rohit Sharma called Bumrah his “go to guy” to a destructive batsman like Andre Russell, with the Windies cricketer being fired for just 12 after an excellent delivery.
The pacemaker will feel on top of the world, but it won’t be long for a hard return to reality, if not cautiously, with MI taking on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Sunday.
The pacer will compete against KXIP skipper KL Rahul, who is the lead run-getter in the ongoing edition.
Rahul scored 448 runs in 8 games with a strike rate of 133.33 and an average of 74.66, impressing with his impressive consistency.
The opener has confidently hit runs against some of the best bowlers in the business, but a player of Bumrah’s class will be a formidable foe even to him.
Rahul has tried to play the role of anchor and up the ante when the opportunity calls for it. Rohit will back Bumrah to close the KXIP opener early, given the importance of the Rahul’s wicket in determining the end result.
It will certainly be a treat for fans as two top players compete for dominance.
