Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting said they will find out more about all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin’s injury soon. Ashwin showed sublime form on Sunday against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and took over two wickets in his first. However, from the last ball from the over, he dove to save a single, hurting his shoulder. Marcus Stoinis played brilliantly in the match, scoring 53 times on just 21 balls. Both teams had scored 157 points in the 20 overs allotted.
In the final, KXIP needed 13 points to win. Mayank Agarwal scored 12 points from the first three balls, but Stoinis made a stunning comeback.
Stoinis threw a point ball before taking two wickets from the last two deliveries, bringing the game into the Super Over. Agarwal was fired after scoring 89 runs from 60 balls.
Delhi Capitals will now face Chennai Super Kings on September 25.
