Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting expressed excitement after the franchise qualified for the first IPL final, saying, “ It’s a great reward for all the hard work ” that players have put in so far. Delhi beat SunRisers Hyderabad by 17 points in Qualifier 2 on Sunday to secure their final berth. The team led by Shreyas Iyer will now meet the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the summit. Ponting wrote on Twitter, “I love that the guys made it to @delhicapitals’ first IPL final. It’s a great reward for all the hard work they’ve put in since we got here and been together as a group. . “

Kagiso Rabada took four wickets while Marcus Stoinis scalped three wickets while Delhi Capitals defended a total of 189 runs.
For SunRisers, Kane Williamson played 67 points while young Abdul Samad added 33 points, but the duo failed to hit until the final was over.
Previously, Shikhar Dhawan and Shimron Hetmyer played 78 and 42 respectively while Delhi Capitals posted a total of 189/3 in the allotted 20 overs.
Dhawan was the top scorer with a 78-point knockout, while Hetmyer remained unbeaten at 42.
For SRH, Jason Holder, Sandeep Sharma and Rashid Khan each took one wicket.
Delhi will now face Mumbai Indians in the final on November 10 at Dubai International Stadium.
