Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 57 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, in Abu Dhabi. After the game at the post-game press conference, MI captain Rohit Sharma praised the quality of his team. “We have a lot of quality and it’s about getting the job done. They all have a lot of confidence. They are all talented and they can take the game away on their day and it all falls into place,” said the Indian cricketer. .
MI is currently in good shape and has put together a hat-trick of wins.
Rohit also praised his bowlers, who passed RR with style. Jasprit Bumrah i, in particular, shined when he took his first four-wicket haul in T20 cricket.
“It’s good to have bowlers who can take advantage of the conditions,” Rohit joked.
MI initially won the coin toss and chose to hit. Suryakumar Yadav shone for his team with an unbeaten knockout of 79 points on 47 deliveries. It was packed with eleven fours and two sixes. Its powerful display helped MI finish on 193/4 after 20 overs, setting a 194-run target for RR.
Rohit greeted him and said, “There was a good Surya innings coming up, I spoke to him before the game, and his shot selection was perfect today. We wanted him to hit to the end because he can innovate quite well.”
MI beat RR by 57 runs, and the Royals came out at 136 after 18.1 overs (all out).
Losing captain Steve Smith regretted his team’s display. He criticized his team, saying, “I think losing wickets early doesn’t help, we haven’t been able to get off to a good start in the last three games.”
After the win, MI is now at the top of the IPL table after six games, having played one game extra than the rest of the teams. Meanwhile, RR is seventh in the table of eight teams.
MI will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next match on October 11. Meanwhile, on October 9, RR faces the same opposition.
