Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is sweating on the ground ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) opener against Chennai Super Kings. The official Instagram account of the Mumbai Indians posted a video on Wednesday in which Rohit Sharma hits the ball out of the stadium. The video shows Rohit coming over the lane and hitting the ball straight over the bowler’s head. The interesting thing about the shot was that Rohit managed to hit a moving bus just outside the stadium.
“Hitters hit sixes, Legends clear the stadium, Hitman crushes a six + clears the stadium + hits a moving bus,” the Mumbai Indians captioned the video on Instagram.
Rohit is one of the most successful captains in the lucrative league. The right-handed batsman has led Mumbai Indians to four IPL trophies, the most of any team.
Rohit went through a purple spot with the bat before all cricket tournaments were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this year, Rohit Sharma beat 140 runs in just four T20Is against New Zealand with an impressive success rate of over 150.
On Sunday, the IPL 2020 schedule was released by the Indian cricket board and Mumbai Indians were announced to begin their title defense against three-time champion Chennai Super Kings on September 19.
The schedule for playoffs and finals will be announced later, according to a BCCI release.
The cash-rich competition was left the country due to rising coronavirus cases in India.
All matches will be played in three locations: Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
