Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Moeen Ali started trending on social media after he came out for a golden duck who also went on a free hit against SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 Eliminator on Friday. Moeen Ali walked just in the middle after the dismissal of Aaron Finch in the 11th from the innings. SRH left arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem threw a front soccer ball to AB de Villiers and he singled to get off the bat. Moeen Ali came in to face the free hit and it was a golden opportunity for him to open his account as all but one layoffs were out of the question.

What followed after that, however, was something that doesn’t happen very often on the field. Nadeem threw a full delivery right into the block hole and Moeen Ali hit it straight to Rashid Khan, stationed on extra cover, and decided to steal a quick single. Lightning-fast in the field, the SRH leg spinner took a direct hit and hit the stumps to get the English all-rounder, leaving RCB 62/4 after 11 overs.

While the way Moeen Ali got out was hard for the RCB supporters to digest, people on social media took the opportunity to flood the internet with all kinds of hilarious memes.

Earlier, SRH skipper David Warner won the toss and invited RCB to hit. Virat Kohli came out to open the innings, but took off cheaply in the second over, pushing the leg side straight to the wicket-keeper.

Aside from AB de Villiers (56 of 43 balls) and Aaron Finch (32 of 30 balls), no other RCB batter occupied the crease for long to make an impact in the game and could only take 131/7 in 20 overs.
