As the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL 2020 journey drew to a close, Yuzvendra Chahal’s fiancé, Dhanashree Verma, took to Instagram to share a few photos with star hitter AB de Villiers. As she shared the photo, Dhanashree recalled the emotions she went through when she first met de Villiers and other RCB stars and wrote that she would cherish the moment for a “lifetime.”
RCB, who have never won an IPL title, ended their campaign on a dismal note when they lost five games in the trot, including Friday’s Eliminator against SunRisers Hyderabad. Despite De Villiers’ hard-fought innings, RCB was able to put out only 131/7 in the first innings chasing SRH with six wickets in hand.
In addition to her photo with De Villers, Dhanashree also shared a photo of her fiancé Yuzvendra Chahal, wearing an autographed sweater signed by De Villiers.
I’m going to frame this and treasure it for a lifetime. @ Abdevilliers17 thank you for being the nicest person on this journey. I am extremely blessed with such legends. I still remember the first time I was introduced to you, the chills and butterflies which I think were of the highest level and spent countless nights sitting together and learning so much from you guys, “Dhanashree wrote on Instagram.
Yuzvendra Chahal once again led RCB’s bowling wicket, finishing the season as their most successful bowler, with 21 wickets from 15 games.
Dhanashree praised her fiancé, writing, “@ yuzi_chahal23 I am so proud of what you do and the respect you have earned from such legends. Thank you for the best opportunities you have given me”.
“Words aren’t real enough to express my journey with RCB. Post this photo but bring great memories. Thank goodness. I’ll always be grateful,” she added.
RCB had started the campaign in a smart way by winning seven of the first 10 games, sparking the hope of fans to get all the way into the tournament. However, the players lost steam as the tournament neared its business end. But despite losing their last four league games, they somehow managed to make it into the playoffs thanks to their better net run rate.
