“Junior Chris Gayle”: Aakash Chopra shares video of a child making powerful shots. Watch

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra took to Instagram to share a video of a kid playing phenomenal cricket shots. The former cricketer turned commentator was amazed to see how powerfully the kid hit the ball and sent it to a great distance. The former India opener praised the kids’ talent and wrote: “How good is this young boy !!!”. The video shows a left-handed boy standing on the stairs waiting for the ball to be thrown. Standing with an open posture, the child is ready to release his arms. And once the ball arrives, the child shows no mercy and goes very far.

The video became an instant hit with fans as people praised the child’s excellent bat swing. One user even compared the power-hitting to the Kings XI Punjab’s Chris Gayle, while the other was reminded of the six sixes that Yuvraj Singh hit on Stuart Broad in the inaugural World T20 in 2007.

“The bat swing is excellent,” wrote one user, while another commented, “Junior Chris Gayle”.

“This is reminiscent of the 6s Yuvraj Singh hit against Broad. 360-degree shots all over the park,” said one user.

Aakash Chopra, who is very active on social media, has also shared such videos in the past of young children playing beautiful cricket shots. Rather than sharing the raw videos, the former Delhi player adds his commentary to such clips, making them more interesting to the viewers.

Last month, Chopra had shared a similar video of a young girl playing MS Dhoni’s iconic helicopter to perfection, drawing comparisons to the CSK skipper.

“Thursday Thunderbolt… our very own Pari Sharma. Isn’t she super talented?” Chopra wrote on Twitter while sharing the video.

With IPL just days away, Akash Chopra believes UAE wickets are best suited for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) of all teams.

“RCB don’t have a strong bowling attack, last season they only won three games at their home ground, they have a limited bowling attack but it could be fine in UAE because there are big grounds. So I really think RCB can be one of the big beneficiaries are with the IPL taking place abroad. Yuzvendra Chahal and Pawan Negi will play a big role in the UAE, ”he had said in a video posted on his official YouTube channel.

The IPL 2020 kicks off with a replay of last year’s summit clash between Mumbai Indians and CSK on Sept. 19 as RCB, with a view to their first IPL title, launched their campaign against 2016 champion SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Dubai. September 21 begins.
