Virat Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), posted photos of himself after having “good” training in the United Arab Emirates. In the photos, Kohli could be seen in a net session, playing soccer with his RCB teammates and enjoying an ice bath. While fans applauded the captain’s hard work, former RCB batsman Kevin Pietersen took a brutal dig at Kohli. Pietersen tugged on Kohli’s leg for playing a defensive shot into the nets, reminding the RCB captain that it is Twenty20 cricket and not a test match.
“Please go on! T20 no test match,” Pietersen left a comment on Kohli’s Instagram post with a smiling emoji.
Kohli has never won the Indian Premier League (IPL) in his 12 years with the Bangalore-based franchise.
RCB managed to reach the final three times, but did not cross the line.
The 13th edition of the IPL was moved out of the country due to rising coronavirus cases in India.
The upcoming edition of the cash-rich competition will be played at three locations: Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
On Tuesday, Virat Kohli suggested that all players participating in the IPL 2020 should respect the security protocols set forth by the BCCI.
We are all here to play cricket … The bio bubble must be respected at all times for the tournament to eventually take place. We are not here to have fun and wander and you know that ‘I want to hang out in Dubai, ”Kohli had said.
