Lie after lie after lie TV networks are breaking off Donald Trump’s live address

NBC and ABC News have also paused their live coverage of Trump.

Washington, United States:

Several U.S. television networks ceased live coverage of Donald Trump’s first public appearance since election night late Thursday after they concluded the president had spread disinformation.

In a 17-minute speech, Trump unleashed a barrage of ardent and unsubstantiated allegations, insisting that Democrats used “illegal votes” to “steal our elections.”

The President spoke as the belated vote count in the battlefield states showed Democrat Joe Biden steadily approaching victory.

“OK, here we are again in the unusual position of not only interrupting the President of the United States, but also correcting the President of the United States,” said MSNBC host Brian Williams when the network quickly ended its live coverage.

NBC and ABC News have also paused their live coverage of Trump.

“What a sad night for the United States of America to hear its president say this to falsely accuse people of trying to steal elections,” said Jake Tapper of CNN.

He described it as “a lie for a lie for a lie about the theft of the election”, with no evidence, “just smears”.
