Islamabad, Pakistan:

A young man was hit and killed by a train in Pakistan while being filmed on the tracks for a TikTok stunt. Police and ambulance officials announced this on Saturday.

The accident occurred on Friday in the Shah Khalid district in the city of Rawalpindi near the capital Islamabad.

18-year-old Hamza Naveed walked next to the train tracks while a friend was filming him, Raja Rafaqat Zaman, a spokesman for the local emergency services, told AFP.

“The moving train hit him while he was posing for a video and walking on the railroad,” Zaman said.

Rescue workers rushed to the construction site, he said, but the young man was already dead.

Taking selfies and making videos for social media is very popular in Pakistan as well as other countries. Many teenagers use the posts to update their Facebook, Twitter and TikTok accounts.
