Merry Christmas: Sachin Tendulkar, Cristiano Ronaldo and other sports stars extend Christmas greetings


Legendary Indian cricket player Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter on Friday to wish everyone a “Merry Christmas”. “Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas has always been about getting together and giving. Let’s make it special for those around us, even in the smallest of ways. Have a blessed one,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote in his tweet. The tweet also included a video showing the 47-year-old dressed in a Santa Claus costume. Other sports stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Novak Djokovic also used social media to spread the Christmas cheer.

“We wish you a Merry Christmas !! Full of love, health and happiness,” said the footballer’s tweet.

Ronaldo’s tweet also included a photo of him and his family sitting around a Christmas tree.

“#MerryChristmas to everyone who celebrates! #NoleFam,” Djokovic tweeted.

Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ricky Ponting extended their wishes to their fans over Christmas as well.


“I wish you and your family a year of happiness, fulfillment and success. Stay healthy and safe in 2021 .. Merry Christmas to all #MerryChristmas,” said Raina’s tweet.

“Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I miss you my girls @ritssajdeh,” said Rohit.

“I wish everyone a Merry Christmas,” read Virat’s tweet.

Ricky Ponting wished everyone a “Merry Christmas”. He went on to share how happy he was to be with his parents and other family members on the special day.

“Merry Christmas to everyone. I feel very happy to be with my parents and family and to share this special day together,” Ponting said in a tweet, with a photo of him sitting with his family.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Christmas is being celebrated in a subdued way all over the world.
