The legendary New York travel destination Empire State Building was illuminated in orange to commemorate Diwali – the festival of lights.
The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) of the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, the leading umbrella organization in the USA that works with the Empire State Building, marked the festival of lights by illuminating the iconic Manhattan building in orange on Friday.

The FIA announced that 10,000 hot meals were also served in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut as part of the Diwali Soup & Kitchen ‘initiative to bring the Indian traditions, culture and customs related to the festival to a diverse audience do.
The chairman of the FIA, Ankur Vaidya, launched the idea for the Diwali Soup & Kitchen, which was praised by the Indian Consul General in New York, Randhir Jaiswal, for reaching and serving humanity.
