Tamil film actor Rajinikanth’s medical reports show that there is nothing alarming about him and his doctors will receive a call when he is discharged this afternoon, according to a medical bulletin issued by the Hyderabad hospital where he has been admitted since Friday. .
The 70-year-old man was admitted to Apollo Hospitals after “severe fluctuations” in his blood pressure. She was in town last week for the filming of her movie “Annathe,” but it was canceled after four team members tested positive for coronavirus. Rajinikanth himself, however, tested negative.
While a notification from Apollo Hospitals said on Saturday that doctors had found no major health problems with him, they were awaiting further investigative reports before reaching a conclusion.
“All investigative reports have come in and there is nothing alarming in the reports. The medical team will evaluate him this afternoon and make a decision on his discharge,” said a hospital bulletin issued today.
Rajinikanth’s health problems come days before the planned launch of his political party. The new team is expected to play an important role in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections scheduled for May 2021. His fellow actor, Kamal Haasan, has already launched the election campaign for his new party, the Makkal Needhi Maiam. Mr. Haasan had previously expressed his willingness to work with his longtime colleague’s new team.
“Wishes for the speedy recovery of Rajinikanth,” Haasan, 66, tweeted in Tamil on Christmas Day. Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister E Palaniswami also spoke to the ailing actor on Saturday by phone and wished him a speedy recovery.
