9.4 overs (1 run)
Stoinis pushes this too far and picks up a single.
9.3 overs (6 runs)
Six! On, on and off! Floating ball around, Stoinis long slaps it away for a biggie.
Shimron Hetmyer now walks to the center.
9.2 overs (0 Run)
FROM! RUNNING OUT! Again, confusion between the two Delhi batters. What is happening here? Stoinis floated around in the middle and pushed it up halfway. Pant does not look at Stoinis. He takes off, Stoinis then shouts loudly no. But it is all too late. The substitute fielder throws the ball to the bowler’s end and Tewatia takes the bails off. Pant is a goner.
9.1 overs (1 run)
Short and wide from Tewatia, cut to a deep point for a single. Both spinners are dragging their length back here.
8.6 overs (1 run)
A single to finish, because the shorter ball is worked through covers for one. Keep it short all the time, Gopal.
8.5 overs (1 run)
On the short side, a bunt too long for one.
8.4 overs (0 Run)
Brilliant fielding from Gopal. Shorter ball out, Stoinis pushes it to the left of Gopal. The bowler dives and intercepts that.
8.3 overs (6 runs)
SIX! On, on and off! Full ball out, the ability to release the arms. Stoinis does this and expels it over a wide long distance.
8.2 overs (0 Run)
Fuller, from the outside, driven to cover.
8.1 overs (0 Run)
Confusion again, for Delhi! Shorter ball on the middle and leg, Stoinis stops him halfway towards Yashasvi. He was looking for a single one, Pant replied. A little dilly-dallying and they just about rightly decide not to take one.
DRINKS! Not the start Delhi had hoped for, especially in Sharjah. The big hitters, Shaw and their skipper, Iyer, were sent back to the cabin with minimal damage. However, Pant and Stoinis are also dangerous bats. For now, they’d try to play cautiously and cash in on the loose deliveries. Once set it will be scared, most of all, they won’t miss Sharjah.
7.6 overs (1 run)
All around, short, dabbed halfway for a single.
7.6 overs (1 run)
WIDE! Slide one down the leg side, Stoinis lets it be. Wide.
7.5 overs (0 Run)
Head out there. Flatter and round center and leg, Stoinis seemed to work that on the leg side, but Smith gets a lead on cover. 3 dots in a row now.
7.4 overs (0 Run)
Stoinis works this on the man short mid-wicket for a point.
7.3 overs (1 run)
Almost a bite! Rajasthan almost had a wicket again. Flat ball, outside off, Pant seems to cut, but gets a bottom. It goes through, safely past the stumps and the goalkeeper and a single is squeezed in.
7.2 overs (0 Run)
Shortish, outside, just inside the guideline. Pant makes it think it would be broad, but it shouldn’t be.
7.1 overs (1 run)
On the short side from the outside, smooth through covers for a single.
Twist on both ends. Rahul Tewatia is now on the attack.
6.6 overs (1 run)
Short ball again, Stoinis pulls straight to mid-wicket. A single to finish. 15 of Gopal’s first time.
6.5 overs (6 runs)
SIX! Not a good bowling from Gopal, too short again. Marcus goes back and pulls this over the center of the wicket. It was a flat six.
6.4 overs (6 runs)
SIX! He’s a strong man, Stoinis. Flatter ball, it rocks back just like in the first ball. This time, however, he pushes it to the max over deep mid-wicket.
6.3 overs (1 run)
Flat and well outside, Gopal gets out of there. Pants cut but find deep extra coverage. Only the single.
6.2 overs (1 run)
Stoinis floated out and leans through the covers for a single.
6.1 overs (0 Run)
Stoinis is flatter in the center and swings back and slides it towards the center of the wicket.
Now turn the time as Shreyas Gopal is introduced in the attack. Stoinis is a shaky starter against spin.
5.6 overs (1 run)
Stoinis pushes it out a bit for a single. Delhi are 51 for 3 at the end of the Powerplay.
Marcus Stoinis makes his way to the center.
5.5 overs (0 Run)
FROM! RUNNING OUT! What an excellent piece of fielding! Shreyas Iyer will regret being in good shape and will be disappointed. However, this is wonderful work by Yashasvi Jaiswal! He was previously involved in a catch and is now in the middle of things with a runout. Ball with good length on out, Iyer pushes him far from the coverfielder. Iyer takes off for a single, but then sees that Jaiswal has dived to make the stop. Iyer turns around while Jaiswal is shy at the goalkeeper’s end. He hits and the third umpire is called up. The reps roll in, and they show Iyer was out of his fold by a wide margin. This is a great start from Rajasthan.
A dropout appeal has been taken up! Looks like Shreyas Iyer should go and the reps show he’s out of his fold! Superb piece of work.
5.4 overs (1 run)
Full ball out, Pant plays it too deep for a single.
5.4 overs (1 run)
WIDE! Too high! Short ball around the middle, Pant dives underneath. Wide.
5.3 overs (1 run)
Full ball in center, Iyer throws it to deep square leg for a single.
5.2 overs (4 runs)
FOUR! Wonderful shot from Shreyas Iyer! Quality shot! Back off a long ball outside, Iyer drives him through cover for a boundary.
