Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and wife Prithi Ashwin celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on Friday. The couple was married on November 13, 2011. On their special day, Ashwin’s wife shared a few photos of her husband and their two lovely daughters. One of the light-hearted photos showed Prithi grabbing Ashwin’s throat with the off-spinner’s mouth wide open. The couple is currently in Sydney, where they complete their mandatory quarantine before the series against Australia kicks off. “We are happy for nine years. What could be more romantic than being quarantined together and there is no way to escape? @ Rashwin99,” Prithi Ashwin wrote the photos on Instagram.

Ashwin also posted one of the photos to his Instagram account, writing, “Time flies !! So did the past 9 years. @Prithinarayanan #weddingannirthday”

Ashwin’s IPL franchise Delhi Capitals also left a comment on the off-spinner’s post, wishing them their nine years together. “Congratulations, Ash & Prithi,” was the comment from Delhi Capitals.

Ashwin led the franchise’s spin bowling attack alongside Axar Patel in his debut season for Delhi Capitals, especially after leg spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out mid-season due to injury.

R Ashwin played 15 games for the franchise and took 13 wickets, bowling with a decent economy of 7.66 runs per over.

Ashwin has not been selected in the selection of limited overs of India, but is an integral part of the Test selection. The first game of the four-test series will be played under floodlights and starts on December 17 in Adelaide. The second match is the Boxing Day Test and will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26-30.

The third test will start on January 7 in Sydney, while the fourth and final test will start on January 15 in Brisbane.
