RCB captain Virat Kohli thinks the inclusion of South African all-rounder Chris Morris has bolstered the team’s bowling lineup. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) showed no mercy when they knocked out Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with 82 runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. No KKR batsmen got underway as RCB limited the Dinesh Karthik-led side to 112 for nine in their allotted 20 overs, based on some all-round bowling achievements. Chris Morris bowed brilliantly and picked two wickets while Yuzvendra Chahal was once again exceptional.
“It’s a great win against a very strong team. We went into a busy week for us, it was important to start well. The bowling division looks much more powerful now that Chris Morris returns. We were very happy with the total.” This field was drier. And the day was a pleasant one, so we thought there would be no dew, ”said Kohli during the post-game presentation via host broadcaster Star Sports.
RCB had posted a total of 194 runs on the back of AB de Villiers’s blistering knock. The South African played an unbeaten knock of 73 runs from just 33 balls, while skipper Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 33.
Kohli praised De Villiers’ “fantastic knock”, saying it was because of the Proteas batsman that RCB was able to put in an impressive total.
“It was incredible. I thought I had a few balls under my belt, and I could start hitting. He just came in and hit the third ball, and said he felt good. I said you might be a lot of people. would see what has been done in other games, but only AB can do what he did. ”Kohli said.
“It was a fantastic knock. We were looking at 160-165, and it was only thanks to his genius that we reached 194. I was happy to be able to partner up, and mine was the best seat to look from,” he added.
RCB will take on Kings XI Punjab at the bottom of the table next Thursday.
