Rishabh Pant, one of India’s many heroes in the Test series winning in Australia, thanked his fans for their love and support on Tuesday after gaining 4 million followers on social media site Instagram. The 23-year-old wicket-keeper-batsman said it was “quite a ride” with quite a few ups and downs. “It’s been quite a ride so far, with quite a few ups and downs! Thank you to all of you for all your love, support and wishes,” he wrote along with an animated video that he shared.

“Let them come as we move to the next milestone,” he added.

The video showed him in the India jerseys for the different sizes, as well as the Delhi Capitals jersey, which he represents in the Indian Premier League.

The video ends on a funny note, where his face turns into a picture of the superhero Spiderman, with “Spider-Pant” underneath.

The reference comes after he was caught singing the Hindi version of the “Spiderman” theme behind the stumps on Day 4 of the fourth India-Australia test in Gabba.

A day later, Pant hit an undefeated 89 as India chased 328 to complete a historic chase and win the series.

Pant scored 1,088 runs in 16 tests, with an average of 43.52. He struck two centuries and four half centuries in the game’s longest format. In 16 ODIs he has scored 374 points, while he has 410 points in 28 T20Is.
