Siraj was last seen in action at the recently concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 26-year-old was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team and has been praised for his performance in a league match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The pacer picked three wickets while conceding 8 runs during his four overs period in that match.
The Indian team’s tour of Australia consists of three ODI matches, the same number of T20I ties and four Tests. The first two ODIs will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with the 50 over opening match scheduled for November 27.
Opener Rohit Sharma will not be part of the series’ limited-overs leg, due to concerns about his overall fitness. Rohit sustained a hamstring injury during the IPL 2020 while representing champion Mumbai Indians (MI).
Skipper Virat Kohli returns home at the end of the first test, after receiving paternity leave from the BCCI.
