Tamil Nadu passed Baroda in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and won by seven wickets. After the game, the winning captain Dinesh Karthik led his team to a party dance, grooving to the “Vaathi Coming” song from the Tamil movie “Master”. Karthik’s Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took to Twitter to share a video of the dance and also praised the Tamil Nadu team. The video was captioned as: “@DineshKarthik and his guys never disappoint you whether on the field or off it #KKR # SyedMushtaqAliTrophyT20 #Cricket #TamilNadu”.

Karthik represents KKR in the IPL and is their former captain. He handed over the captain to Eoin Morgan during the 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Manimaran Siddharth and C Hari Nishaanth showed the best results for Tamil Nadu in the final and helped them win their second Syed Mushtaq Ali title. They had won their first title in 2006-07.
Meanwhile, Baroda has also won the title twice in the past (2011-12 and 2013-14).

Baroda had a bad start, losing early wickets. Vishnu Solanki scored the highest score for them with 49 points, as they set a goal of 121 points for Tamil Nadu. Siddharth took four wickets in four overs and gave up 20 runs.
Tamil Nadu successfully chased the goal in 18 overs, with Nishaanth scoring the best with 35 points. Baba Aparajith played an important role in the victory and remained unbeaten after 29 points. Meanwhile, Karthik also played a part in his team’s chase, hitting 22 runs from 16 balls.
