T Natarajan released from Tamil Nadu team for Vijay Hazare trophy at BCCI’s request

India’s latest pace sensation T Natarajan has been released from Tamil Nadu roster for the Vijay Hazare Trophy ODI competition as the BCCI wants him to stay fresh for the limited-overs series against England next month, a top TNCA official said Thursday . “The BCCI and the Indian team management wanted Natarajan to be fresh for the white ball stage of the series against England. In view of the interests of the Indian team, we said yes,” said the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association secretary. (TNCA) RS Ramasaamy v PTI.


R S Jaganath Sinivas will take the place of Natarajan in the 20-man squad that will leave for Indore on February 13.

Natarajan was previously included in a 20-man Tamil Nadu squad for the tournament that started on February 20. Tamil Nadu had recently won the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in Ahmedabad.

The first of the five T20 Internationals against England will be played in Ahmedabad on March 12, while the first ODI will be played in Pune on March 23.

Tamil Nadu chief of selectors S Vasudevan also confirmed the development, saying Natarajan has been released from the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad.


Natarajan was the first Indian cricket player to make his international debut in all three formats while touring Australia.

He played in the Brisbane Test, having made his first T20I and ODI appearances earlier on the tour.
