The BCCI will host the Vijay Hazare Trophy in six cities from February 20 to March 14, with the teams entering the bio-secure bubble starting February 13 to undergo three COVID tests. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah released the schedule on Saturday with Surat, Indore, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Jaipur as five of the six locations. Eight Plate Group teams play their matches in different areas in Tamil Nadu. According to the BCCI protocol, the players will undergo three RT-PCR tests in their respective bio-bubble and three more on arrival, before the start of the knockout phase (pre quarter-finals) from 7 March.
As per BCCI notice, Elite Group A will include Gujarat, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Tripura, Baroda, Goa. The location is Surat. Group B consists of Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh with Indore location. Group C matches will be held in Bengaluru with Karnataka, UP, Kerala, Odisha, Railways and Bihar as the hosts’ six teams.
The Group D states are Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Puducherry and matches are scheduled in Jaipur. Group E matches are held in Kolkata with Bengali hosts clubbed in addition to Services, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh.
The Plate Group competitions will be held in different areas in Tamil Nadu and the teams are Uttarakhand, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim.
