Wasim Jaffer came up with another witty message after India named their playing XI for the second Australia Test, but without either of the two players Jaffer had been looking for. While Shubman Gill got a Test debut, fellow lead-off hitter KL Rahul found no place in the side. Jaffer, who had asked for the recording of Gill and Rahul, came out with another tweet to make his point. “New Opportunities Kindle Life,” wrote Jaffer, reading “NO KL” for short.

Jaffer has been playing the Twitter game with his carefully worded posts to comment on India’s team roster for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series.
On Monday, Jaffer had shared a tweet asking for Gill and Rahul to be included in the XI, but in a cryptic, encrypted message to replacement skipper Ajinkya Rahane.
Dear @ ajinkyarahane88, here is a (hidden) message for you. Good luck with Boxing Day!

India has made four changes to their Adelaide Test XI for the Boxing Day match in Melbourne starting Saturday.
In addition to Gill, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj were there, even when Prithvi Shaw and Wriddhiman Saha were dropped.
Two of the changes were forced, as Mohammed Shami was injured while batting in the second innings of the first Test while regular skipper Virat Kohli left home on paternity leave.
Promoted
Gill, who hit half a century in the second warm up match against Australia A that preceded the first test, has scored 2,270 runs from 23 first-class matches at 68.78 with seven centuries.
He will likely open the hitting with Mayank Agarwal, who will return to the venue where he made his Test debut in 2018.
