When Kamala Harris called President-elect Joe Biden after the historic victory, we said we did it, Joe. Clock

Senator Kamala Harris will serve as vice president of the country’s second largest office.

New Delhi:

Kamala Harris today shared a video of her phone call with US President-elect Joe Biden shortly after the US presidential election for the Democratic candidate was scheduled.

“We did it, Joe. You will be the next President of the United States,” said Ms. Harris, who appears to be walking, to Mr. Biden.

Joe Biden became the President-elect of the United States on Saturday after gaining victory in the battlefield state of Pennsylvania that put him well above the 270-vote threshold of the electoral college. The former vice president became the oldest president in US history when he was 78.

Senator Kamala Harris will be the first woman, the first black American, and the first Asian American to serve as vice president of the country’s No. 2 Office.

“While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,” said Ms. Harris in her first address to the nation as vice-president-elect.

“Every little girl who watches tonight sees that this is a land of opportunity,” she said at the Delaware victory rally.

Joe Biden, who defeated incumbent Republican President Donald Trump in the highly competitive presidential election, becomes the 46th President of the United States.

Harris is the first-ever female vice president of the United States. She will also be the country’s first Indian-born and first African-American female vice president.
